Extremely RARE circa 1956 ORIGINAL 8X10 GLOSSY PROMO PHOTO OF ELVIS PRESLEY. Serious Elvis Collectors know just how rare and valuable this photo is. This Elvis Promo photo was introduced in early 1956 and Elvis did not like the pose at all. It was sold at shows for just a very brief time before another pose to his liking was made available. The 8x10 photo is in good overall condition and displays nicely. no fading. There is a small tear and scuff at lower right edge which has a small piece of scotch tape. i did not try to remove tape but it could probably be restored. As is, the tape is not noticeable. there is some faint light creases around the edges of photo but portrait of Elvis face is unblemished. Photo is from the collection of Stanley Oberst who wrote the book Elvis Rocking Across Texas which was published by Follow That Dream. He acquired the photo from the estate of Mom and Pop Holifield who owned record stores in Midland Odessa during the 1950's. They were friends with Elvis and in the early days Elvis and his band would stay at the Holifields home. A fine addition to your collection. 3.75 shipping.
